From my understanding the proper title of the document written in 1787, referred to as the “Constitution”, is the “Constitution for the United States of America”, however the title of the booklet is the “Constitution of the United States of America” (an obfuscated title for this document; the words "of" and "for" change the meaning of the title).
PURPOSE:
The purpose for choosing “The Constitution of the United States of America” as the fifth book to report on, is because it follows up the “Articles of Confederation”, which was America’s first “Constitution”.
The “Articles of Confederation” were considered weak for giving the States too much power. In 1787 it was decided to scrap the “Articles of Confederation” and create a new set of “Bylaws” in order to form a more perfect union.
The “Declaration of Independence” is America’s “Charter”, the purpose document.
Replacing the “Articles of Confederation”, the “Constitution” drafted in 1787 are the “Bylaws” (the organizational document).
The “Declaration of Independence” and the “1787 Constitution” are designed to work together.
